WHAT IS TEETH WHITENING ?
Teeth whitening is the removal of colored organic and inorganic substances formed in the porous enamel and dentin structure on the surface of teeth using tooth whitening gels such as carbamide peroxide. This procedure is performed by the dentist to eliminate existing discoloration on the enamel and eliminate yellow and discolored teeth.

WHICH DISEASES ARE USED FOR ?
Teeth whitening is used when teeth are discolored due to internal or external factors. Teeth whitening is an effective way to bring teeth closer to their natural color without damaging the tooth surface.

HOW IS TEETH WHITENING APPLIED ?
Teeth whitening is a treatment method in which peroxide-based teeth whitening products (gels) are applied directly to the teeth using a brush or thin strip. This treatment is usually applied once or twice a day for 10 to 14 days. This treatment lightens teeth by one or two shades. Teeth whitening methods vary depending on the technique used and the application area.

OFFICE-STYLE TEETH WHITENING (CLINICAL WHITENING) :
This method is also known as "Laser Teeth Whitening" and is performed by a dentist in a clinic. The procedure takes less time than other methods. The dentist applies a whitening gel to the teeth, which is activated with UV light or a laser, and the whitening process takes approximately one hour.

SINGLE TOOTH WHITENING (INTERNAL WHITENING) :
This procedure is applied to teeth that have changed color after root canal treatment. The filling is removed, whitening gel is applied to the opened space, and then the tooth is covered with a temporary filling. Sessions are repeated every three days until the desired color is achieved.

ARE TEETH WHITENING HARMFUL ?
Whitening methods can cause slight sensitivity in the teeth. This sensitivity can be caused by exposure to air, very hot or cold foods and drinks. This is a normal and expected side effect. Tooth sensitivity is generally expected to subside within 24-48 hours. If you experience any unexpected issues, you should always consult a dentist. Whitening performed under the supervision of a dentist is not harmful to your teeth.
